Funday is back and bigger than ever!

Posted by admin on August 4, 2009

Hello Readers!
I am back from a two week break and just in time because things are heating up at Call That Girl! My work on the promotional materials for Reboot Electronics is basically finished, and I am very happy with the way everything turned out. This was a great opportunity for myself to gain some hands on experience in the design field for this project, which I am positive will be a great basis for more work down the road.
As my summer vacation comes to a close I have found myself eager for my senior year of college to start, and even more excited about starting the job search for my career after school. Let’s also not forget about the state fair being less than a month away!!! My mouth begins to water every time I think about the different delicious deep fried treats I am going to devour! So if you find yourself down, or getting a little complaicent during this later summer month, just remember one thing awaits you…Cheese Curds!

As my current project wraps up here at CTG, I have set my sights on marketing and promoting our services to all the local All-State Insurance agents. This is a perfect chance for our business to align itself with a clientele that we already know has a huge demand for our IT services. I am keeping my fingers crossed extra tight on this one. Look for more details on this new project in the next few weeks of my blog, each time I will give you all an update on my progress. Thats all for now, thanks for reading!

Hey everybody, Hassan here blogging to you from our Call That Girl workshop. Hope everyone had a wonderfull weekend, mine was pretty low key which is the way I like it! :) Just want to start off by throwing a shout out to the MN Twins for embarassing the White Sox yesterday. I’d also like to say goodluck to Joe Mauer in the home run derby tonight! For those of you who haven’t ready my bio on Linkedin, I love the Twins and baseball in general, I also love eating great food. Yesterday I went to a new restaurant with my girlfriend called The Blue Door off Selby ave, in St. Paul. The food was awesome, and if you love Juicy Lucy’s, you have to check them out!

On to some Call That Girl news…
We met with a video design company this afternoon to start discussing some viral marketing concepts. During the brainstorm session the team’s ideas were flowing, and we developed some pretty cool ideas for 2-3 minute videos. Look on the website in the next couple weeks to see our first finished video, I am sure it will be good for at least a few laughs. My project is coming along nicely, I met with a printing company Friday afternoon to go over some estimates on cost for our promotional materials. Tomorrow I meet with the business development manager at Reboot, to finalize the marketing “stuff”, then we will be ready for their grand opening. The date is still yet to be determined, but the Reboot store in Uptown should be open for business very soon. That is all for now, hopefully my blog was able to bring a little energy back into your afternoon. See you all next week!

Random computer fact of the week:

Networking Wednesdays!

Today is my first day of blogging EVER!!

 Please bear with me.

I am a senior marketing major at the University of St. Thomas, and recently began an internship here at Call That Girl!, a locally owned and operated computer repair company.  My internship is focusing on marketing, and I am doing things that are teaching me skills that will be very important to my professional career.  I am currently in the middle of a LinkedIn project designed to bring CTG revenue.  My boss, Lisa Hendrickson, is a LinkedIn specialist and runs corporate training seminars and one-on-one sessions with VIPs business owners, sales representatives, and others interested in utilizing this great marketing tool.

My job was to first “scrub,” or go through a database of LinkedIn contacts and select who would most likely benefit from a corporate training.  Candidates included but were not limited to: directors, channel managers, business developers, and sales people.  The database of about 1,800 people was scrubbed a total of four different times before a finalized list was created for the corporate sect.

After the database was scrubbed, an email was created to go out to the potential clients.  I wrote the preliminary verbiage and one of Lisa’s colleagues, Connie Anderson, helped out a great deal and made some necessary changes to make the email very professional and more appealing.  Lisa and I tweaked a few things and the first emails were sent out to the corporate folks last Wednesday, July 1, 2009.  Thirty-two emails were sent on July 1st, 50 were sent on July 6th, and I sent out 50 more today, July 8.

So far we have not received any responses.  That is ok because this is not the type of thing that someone will usually respond to the day they receive it.  There is plenty of time for them to think about it and decide it would be valuable to them.  These emails also have value because they mention CTG, which will also hopefully bring in revenue when contacts see this and decide to become clients.  All of the corporate emails are to be sent out hopefully by next week! After this, I will take my scrubbed database and tailor the email to VIPs such as CEO’s, owners, founders, and we will start the process again.  It is very exciting to have this project well underway because I am looking forward to tackling the next project.

I am anxious to begin working on our senior center project, which is the next thing we will be undertaking.  A project planning day is needed to knock out exactly what we will be doing to market to senior centers in the area.  We already have some of the groundwork laid, but there is a ton of research to do and that is primarily what I will be doing for the next couple of weeks.  I need to figure out which senior centers to market to, and how we will do that effectively.  Thank you and please keep reading!!!
